Herd Immunity
"If we just get 70% of people vaccinated, we will achieve herd immunity, and the virus will be gone."
I'm sure you've heard this. The numbers thrown out vary, but it's the justification, in fact the
only justification for firings, mandates, papers, passports, any number of different schemes. But there's just one problem.
In October 2020, the British Medical Journal published an article on the COVID vaccine trials. The headline? "The world has bet the farm on vaccines as the solution to the pandemic, but the trials are not focused
on answering the questions many might assume they are." Specifically, the things that "scientists" actually
do not know from these studies include:
-
Does the vaccine actually reduce hospitalization and death? They do not know. Moderna's Chief Medical Officer is quoted as saying:
"Would I like to know that this prevents mortality? Sure,
because I believe it does. I just don’t think it’s feasible within the
timeframe [of the trial]--too many would die waiting for the results
before we ever knew that."
-
Does the vaccine actually reduce transmission? They do not know. Moderna:
"Our trial will not demonstrate prevention of transmission,
because in order to do that you have to swab people twice a week for very long periods,
and that becomes operationally untenable."
As of 2021, it's looking like the vaccine does
not reduce transmission.
If so, herd immunity is impossible with the vaccine, at any percentage vaccinated. If so, there's zero justification for firings, mandates, papers, or passports.
Zero.
So why are the government and media persisting
as if it does reduce transmission?
